Microneedling stimulates your skin's natural collagen production for lasting transformation. Following these guidelines ensures your skin heals beautifully and your results are maximized.

Before Your Treatment — Pre-Care
  • Discontinue retinol, tretinoin, and all exfoliating acids 5–7 days before
  • Avoid waxing, threading, laser, or any other facial treatments for 7 days prior
  • Do not use self-tanner on the face
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds
  • Stay well hydrated — drink plenty of water
  • Avoid alcohol 48 hours before — it increases skin sensitivity
  • Arrive with a clean face — no makeup, SPF, or heavy products
  • Do not take blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) unless medically necessary
  • Do NOT schedule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Please let Holly know if you have: Used Accutane in the last 6 months · A history of keloid scarring · Active eczema or rosacea · Any blood clotting disorders
After Your Treatment — First 24 Hours
  • Do not touch your face unnecessarily or apply makeup
  • Avoid sweating, exercise, saunas, and hot showers
  • Only use gentle cleanser and post-procedure serum provided or approved by Holly
  • Keep skin hydrated with hyaluronic acid serum or post-care cream
  • If skin feels tight or dry, a thin layer of Aquaphor may be applied
  • Avoid direct sunlight completely
Days 2–5
  • Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing 2–3x daily
  • Expect light flaking or dryness — do not pick or exfoliate
  • Avoid actives (retinol, acids, vitamin C) until skin is fully healed
  • Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily
Days 5–7 & Beyond
  • Skin will appear smoother, more radiant, and refined
  • Resume your normal skincare regimen after 7 days with Holly's approval
  • Results continue to improve over the next 4–6 weeks as collagen builds

  • Let Holly know about any new skincare products, medications, or skin changes
  • Avoid scheduling right before a major event — allow 24–48 hours for any redness
After Your Facial — First 24 Hours
  • Avoid touching your face unnecessarily
  • Do not apply heavy makeup for at least 12 hours
  • Avoid direct sun exposure — apply SPF 30+ if going outside
  • Skip intense exercise, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours
  • Use only gentle, non-active skincare products
  • Keep skin hydrated with a light moisturizer
Days 2–7
  • You may experience light purging or breakouts — this is normal and temporary
  • Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing twice daily
  • Reintroduce actives (retinol, vitamin C, acids) slowly after 3–5 days
  • Apply SPF 30+ every morning without fail
  • Avoid picking, squeezing, or exfoliating aggressively
  • Book your next facial every 4–6 weeks for optimal skin health

Before Your Peel — Pre-Care
  • Discontinue retinol, tretinoin, and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before

  • Do not use self-tanner or have recent sun exposure in the 2 weeks before treatment
  • Inform Holly of any medications, especially Accutane (must be off for 6+ months)
  • Do not schedule before a major event — allow at least 7–10 days for skin to settle
  • Arrive with clean skin — no heavy makeup or SPF products
After Your Peel — First 48 Hours
  • Do not touch, rub, or pick at your skin under any circumstances
  • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours — ideally 48 hours
  • Use only gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturizer
  • Apply SPF 30+ every morning — non-negotiable
  • Avoid direct sun exposure completely
  • Do not exercise, use saunas, or take hot showers for 48 hours
Days 3–7 — The Peeling Phase
  • Light to moderate flaking is normal — do NOT pick or peel skin manually
  • Continue gentle cleansing twice daily
  • Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to very dry or tight areas if needed
  • Avoid all active ingredients until fully healed
  • Wear SPF 30+ every day — even indoors near windows
Week 2 & Beyond
  • Skin will appear brighter, smoother, and more even — enjoy your results!
  • Slowly reintroduce your normal skincare routine with Holly's approval
  • Results continue to improve over 2–4 weeks
  • For best results, a series of 3–6 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended

After Your Treatment — Post-Care
  • Drink water immediately — minimum 2–3 liters within 24 hours post-treatment
  • No sugar or alcohol for 24–48 hours — your body is processing released fat, don't replace it
  • Light movement is required — walk, light cardio, or workout within 30 minutes–2 hours after your session to help flush fat through the lymphatic system
  • Avoid heavy meals immediately after — keep meals light and clean (protein and veggies preferred)
  • No heat for 24–48 hours — avoid saunas, hot tubs, or very hot showers
  • Continue hydration for 3 days — results improve with proper flushing
  • Expect increased urination — this is completely normal, your body is eliminating waste

Please let Holly know if you have: Used Accutane in the last 12 months · A history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring · Active skin infections, eczema, or psoriasis in the treatment area · Diabetes or any condition affecting healing · A pacemaker or metal implants near the treatment area
Immediately After — First 24–48 Hours
  • Small carbon crusts (dots) will form on the skin — this is completely normal and expected
  • Do NOT touch, pick, or remove the crusts under any circumstances
  • Expect swelling, especially around the eyes — this is normal and will subside in 2–5 days
  • Apply the post-care serum or healing ointment provided by Holly as directed
  • Keep the area clean and dry — no water on the treatment area for 24 hours
  • Avoid all makeup on the treated area until crusts have fully fallen off
  • Do not exercise or sweat for 48 hours
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase — elevate your head to reduce swelling
  • Avoid direct sunlight completely
Days 3–7 — The Healing Phase
  • The carbon crusts will begin to flake off naturally — let them fall off on their own
  • Do NOT pick, scratch, or force removal — this can cause scarring or pigmentation
  • Continue applying healing ointment as directed by Holly
  • Gentle cleansing only — use a soft cloth or fingertips, no scrubbing
  • Avoid all active skincare ingredients (retinol, acids, vitamin C) until fully healed
  • Apply SPF 50+ every morning — UV protection is critical during healing
  • Avoid heat — no saunas, steam rooms, or hot showers
Weeks 2–4 & Beyond
  • Pink or red skin after crusts fall is normal — this will fade over several weeks
  • Continue daily SPF 50+ for a minimum of 3 months post-treatment
  • Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for 3 months — critical to prevent hyperpigmentation
  • Results develop gradually over 4–12 weeks as collagen remodels
  • Final results are typically visible at 3 months post-treatment
  • Slowly reintroduce your normal skincare routine with Holly's approval after 2 weeks
